Darkn3s: Kandy Purple shaved Bay build
Hey its me again making another thread on my evo. This time we decided to finally pull the trigger and shave the bay and some what tuck. We decided to go with a Kandy purple color using a aluminum base to get it to POP under sunlight. The motor and trans had to be pulled out to do some refreshing and modifications to it so why not go ahead and tackle the shaving that has been planned for years..perfect opportunity to do it all at once.
I had a close friend of mines help me with the project. Hes a former painter/body shop owner soooo he knows his sh** lol. He did his last s2000 paint and is currently working on shaving his FD RX7 with a 2j and his turbo e36.. should be fun
We didn't take any short cuts on this project and pretty much got it to the way we wanted with smoothness and color choice. Couldn't be any happier!! Hopefully i can get into some magazines with this years setup.. making it this years GOAL!

This is what the bay looked like before.. not to bad

and it begins....

Stripping and grinding out all the unwanted areas and prepping to weld

Welding the holes

Grinding welds down flush

applying flexible body filler

sanding the filler down

mix in some Bondo

prep everything for primer/bulldog

applying the first stage of primer to see imperfections

touch ups

wetsanded everything and then coated with a lighter coat of primer..then wetsand again

test fitting the new AMS F1 intake

time for the aluminum base coat!

here comes the purple drank!

Kept spraying until we got the shade we were satisfied with

Lets add some clear
