Vortex Generators

Would it be better to color match the VG, or leave it carbon/black? Post pictures of your VG's in this thread. I couldn't find a dedicated VG picture thread.

I personally think CF can be pulled off on all colors...it's a matter of opinion.

I bought a VG off of Ebay for only $30 shipped! It came in a flat(er) black finish that is ready for paint. I was planning on wrapping it in a CF style wrap so that way it would look like a CF VG for less than half of what they usually go for. The piece itself is light enough that I wasn't worried about getting a real CF piece for the car.

The installation was a breeze, it does help to have another person handy because it makes it much easier to put on. What else can you really do to an Evo for just $30?!? I ended up just leaving mine the way it came in it's flat black finish, i think the car pulls it off. Let me find a nice pic to show you guys the $30 Ebay Vortex Generator

Goes perfect, but seriously if you have a carbon fibre one then I would leave it carbon unless the clearcoat is starting to look shabby.

PLEASE dont listen to this guy. ask him for a picture of his CF FAKE wrap up close and you will see that he had to cut it to make it go around each "fin" and it looks like crap up close. if your going to do it, get the real carbon fiber not cheap out like this. you will end up taking it off your car.

Personally I'm a fan of color matched, but my vg is black on a black car, so what do I know. lol.

It depends on the rest of your car man. If it is color matched the whole way around and nothing else to compliment a CF / black VG then it'll look out of place.

If you have a EVO 8 wing, cf front lip, and cf side spats then it will compliment.

Pics of your car?

Color matched, or carbon fiber. Just leaving it black is a little Hondaish lol.
Here's mine.

Carbon on carbon

Carbon on colour

Like previously stated only colour code VG if you have a unpainted one or if the carbon laquer is damaged beyond repair.
Wrapping a VG looks cheap and nasty imo
