Looks great. I wonder what it would look like to Plasti dip the silver part on the steering wheel for a darker accent. Probably would look like **** though... haha

Thats great, did you do yours in a different color stitch? would love to see different color, if so.

I like that it covers the entire surface like the stock cover and that you can customize it to whatever you want. Still more expensive than what you got which looks a ton better than having a wheel all worn.

Great job! I hope I can have the patience to do as well as you when I get mine.
Thanks. The racing feel cover is quality material alcantara, if mine ever start fading by the thumb area I will go redline.

I put a redline one on an old volvo I had a few years ago and it was much easier. The problem with this alcantara one is the thread they supply. The redline one I got had a waxy string like thread, this one had a nylon sewing thread, just a bit thicker than cotton (but heaps stronger). That stuff just wants to tie itself into knots, I spent more time undoing the knots than actually sewing. Glad it's done now but I don't know if I'd be rushing to do the job again.
I'm far away from being any form of genius. Thanks for kind words. My approach in doing this was watching the instructional video 10-15 times religiously. Don't complicate the sewing its ONLY sewing through pre threads. Don't get to greedy with a long thread. Do it in sections like the instructional video said to do. Just Go Beast mode on it, you'll be fine. What color stitching did you go with?

How many hours it take you? care to share image

Thanks, I'm wondering the same...it probably be best to keep it stock finish, I'm not trying to fool anybody with this just a cheap preventive cover or for those who need to cover worn steering wheel and simultaneously
providing grip.

i did mine with the regular stitching. took about 3hrs form opening up the package to finish. not that tough if you keep a laptop in the car during install for double check. i did think afterwards it would have been cool to do in red or white stitching, but i like the normal look of the grey. its really not that hard to do.

i agree the redline is nicer alternative, but at another 50-60 dollars im super happy with this one.

Yes that's where I went wrong. I thought it was a bit weaksauce to use 3 pieces of thread so I did mine with one, which was truly stupid. I had about 8ft of thread (doubled over, so 16ft in total) and had about 1 ft left at the end. One thing I did was take the steering wheel off the car, just marked it's location before taking it off so it went back on straight. I thought that sitting on the couch watching tv would be better than sitting in my car. Don't know if it made it quicker though. I have and evo9 with the black wheel so I just stuck with the black thread, which looks good IMO. Considering how much time you spend touching your steering wheel i think it's money well spent.

The only thing I don't like about the redline is how they put the seem on the side of the steering wheel instead of the top center.
