spent a couple hours trying mirrors from various cars. settled on mirrors from a 1991 corolla. very little work to make them fit. shaves 4 more lbs. less frontal and better aero. but look like they belong on the car.

SUB'D my buddy has a 93 mirage coupe powered by 4G63T goodness, and he is probably right around the same 400+ whp range you are. also gutted and wieghs in around 2k lbs with him in it. he was able to hang with and pull on my 02 GSXR 1000 from a 40mph roll..... the thing is scary it ride in, at 60mph at WOT instant wheel spin. right now the car is FWD but my 91 talon TSI just became a parts car for it so it will be AWD soon enough. i don't know what it will be like with AWD.... street tuning he was able to pull on a stock GTR. i LOVE the EVO IIIs. check out my build thread for pics of his "Rage" http://https://www.evolutionm.net/fo...ld-thread.html

your link doesnt work.
the yellow car with the headliner on it is AWD converted car. last made 599whp about five years ago. I was one of the first to convert. car was built ten years ago. at 525whp ran a best of 10.25 full street trim including full interior, a/c, radial tires and no stutter launch. car currently being revived after I made some simple updates to car. this was 10.40 run from feb2005.

Looks good Jerry. I remember when you had it painted Evo 8 blue the first time around.
PM me if your doing paint work now or know if a good paint shop in the area.

Glad to hear the Yellow 2 door will also be back on the local streets.

yes. amazing a new roof is available for a 21 year old car! the rust on old roof was more than I could stomach. price wasnt too bad either. labor intensive but worth it.

is this Glen? this paint job will be far better than the first one. I didnt pay enough last time to get the job done right. this go round is a joint effort between myself and new dsm friend with good painting skills. I am doing the time intensive prep work, disassembly and reassembly. he will be doing bodywork and spray. I think he can handle small side jobs at this time. but I believe he is looking for the space to do complete jobs.

Yes sir.. as long as the CD/E9a shell holds a homologation sheet mitsubishi will stock replacement parts like roofs, trunks and door skins.

Love projects like this. Keep up all the great work and posting pics. This is what owning a car, any type for that matter, that can be modded is all about. Custom touches to make it that one off that matters most to you.

always wanted to improve chassis rigidity by foaming frame rails. supposed to improve stiffness by 40%. makes car ride and handle better. plus a quieter ride. all pluses. I figured this would be tricky. but holy heck I tell you this is pure hell . after about 6 grueling hours I am around 1/4 done.

got the foaming finished. took the better part of three days. lots of oops here. once it starts the rapid expansion you are cooked. some cups never made it to the car. 5 seconds too much stir time can do it.

removed the door bars to shave another 20 lbs. the rears come out pretty easy. the fronts however were very difficult. they have to be cut in half. however the spades on the ends doesnt allow much movement. I ended up plasma cuttings them out piece by piece.

some new plugs arrived today. some Denso race plugs. about $30 each. but are supposed to last life of car. also have garret high density core, bosch EV14 injectors, FP3 CAMS (FP2 now), and speed density conversion.
