Thanks man, I agree it is much more convenient to just sandblast and refinish it than to order it, spend the money on it, wait for it to come, etc. I am making good progress here, I will update soon with pics. A shiny new STM UICP, ETS front mount, and some rearranging and paint will make for a nice looking bay.

Sandblasted the hood latch and the firewall bracket, wow what a difference! Looks like all I need to do now is prime and paint them. Pics soon.

So updates are long overdue. I went at this over the course of a few months, just working when I could. Alot of grinding, snapped bolts, and agony. I got very familiar with the standard sizes in our engine bay, and made a good amount of trips to napa. I will let the pics do the talking, its far from perfect but the best I could do with the engine still in the car.

That deserves respect!!! Good job man, with very minimal resources. I've been in the same process of slowly resorting things that bug me to. Once again, good job.

Thanks! Can't wait to get her back on STM's dyno, I have an AMS 3" turboback to bolt on her yet, and will probly go with some nice FIC injectors to try and hit the ol 300 mark on some basic bolt ons.

whenever I break studs off I have a metal bar with a 1/2" female adapter on the end of it. I tack weld it to the broken stud and attatch the other end to a breaker bar. That and penetrating oil pretty much always do the trick. Either that or blow torch it haha

Might get the headlights on it tonight. My AC was intermittently working, so I took the clutch apart and took the shim out, we will see if that fixes my issue. I also have the BOV all plumbed up, fitment was very good.

Can I verify what did you use to spray your engine bay? Did you use a spray gun setup or did you use rattle can?

I have to do mine soon.

Thanks and nice job!

The napa near me paint matched some rattle cans to paint code on the car, and they even mixed a little clear in there for me too. So it was one stage paint ( color and clear one can). I did prime it with rattle can primer before I painted as well.

Bumper is being a real pain going back on, I've already zipped a few spots with a rotary tool, going to give it another shot tomorrow. It really seems like I have to cut off the metal tab that the license plate bracket bolts to to get the thing to fit.............
