anyone know how much avg mp3 player for ur car goes for?
im looking to get an mp3 player soon (not the mp3/cd player but just regular mp3 player so i can just upload my songs and stuff to the car through HD or something...) so anyone know the rough cost of good mp3 players?
There are a lot of different ways of doing this. If you keep the stock system, you'd end up with an iPod-esque mp3 player with an RF modulator; look for the iTrip FM transmitter (about $35). If you're putting a new stereo in, there are more options (kenwood music keg, etc) but are more expensive.

Looks interesting...i might have to resort to that if mp3 players seem to become too pricy
1) how much memory can ipods hold upto?
2) where do you plug that thing in the evo? i haven't seen an earphone jack in the car???
3) how much would that and decent ipod be (if there are diff types of ipods or something)
4) if you have it, is the sound quality really decent?
5) what kind of batteries do ipods use and how long do they last?
thanks in advance

1) iPods come in 15, 20, and 40 gig models (170, 225, 450 hours of music)
2) The FM transmitter plugs into the iPod and transmits an FM signal that your tuner will pick up (on a low frequency like 88.7).
3) Apple sells the iPods for $299 (15 gig), $399 (20 gig), or 499 (40 gig). You can find them cheaper elsewhere, I think.
4) I don't have one. I don't like FM transmitting; and I always put aftermarket head units in my cars. The sound quality will be as good as the rest of the system - with a stock stereo, the speakers and head unit amp will limit the sound.
5) The battery pack is internal; you can get cigarette lighter adapters for about $20 for continuous playback in the car.
