WannaGofast Ocala 2016 at 600whp

Ran my car at the WannaGofast event a few weeks back. Just rolled out at 3000rpm (no boost) and it came right up on the power. The car moves hard until the top of 4th with the 10% taller 4.11 gearing. The evo 8 ( .72 ) tall 5th is too much of a split and is hard to get accelerating again. I think if I had a 26" tall tire and ran 4th out it would go 155-160. Regardless, I had a lot of fun and drove the car to the grocery store later that night.

It runs pretty good! It has near instant response like the stock turbo.

Absolutely love your car bro- what are you finding to be the biggest advantage in running the AEM inf over stock ecu? I have an infinity if my turbo e46 m3 and am considering getting one for my evo- but I'm on stock block full bolt ons gtx3582r for now- not sure it's worth the investment, just yet...

Also- what fuel was your car on here and how much does your car weigh? This is the perfect street evo imo.

Thanks man! Before I start the stock evo ecu is really good but leaves a little to be desired for me. Here are a few of the biggest advantages of the AEM/ standalone IMO

Jay Meagher knows the AEM,MoTec and Haltech platforms really well.
Live changes
True flex fuel
Data logging speed is much faster
AFR correction
Failsafe protection
Sequential ignition , add/subtract timing per cylinder (fuel also)
Native Speed density, The Ecu was designed for speed density. You can start the car up at any temperature, drive away and the throttle is crisp.

Jay knows the Infinity well but we are moving into the MoTec M130 platform. I'm looking forward to learning that as well.

Fuel was E85/C16 mix to lower IDC . I think I weighed it a few years ago at 3200ish without me with a full tank. I left the spare and everything in the car when I ran so it was in true street form.

Thanks! Its a riot. I can slide the car in 1st or 2nd on the power with a 255-40-17 tire. It drives really well in just about any condition . Clutch is quiet and you can barely tell the cams are there. I took it on a 400 mile round trip last weekend. Got around 22mpg on E85 and 25mpg or so on 93.

the secret is adding a little bit of aero at that power level and speed. Close off the intercooler and ACD openings and the upper grill area. All of the air goes thru the intercooler and keeps it cool. That will be worth 6mph in the 1/2.

I'm sure its worth 6mph or so but I like to run the car as is. I open track the car so I need the front to be open (at least for the stock oil cooler). I left everything including the spare tire in the car for those runs. The only difference between everyday and race mode was some C16 fuel.
