Front splitter without support rods?

Front splitter without support rods?
Has anyone installed the APR or similar front splitter securely without using the support rods? I would also prefer ABS over CF.
Want something simple to match side skirt extensions and don't really care to add a lip and Im not a fan of the look of support rods.
