Well, I feel stupid now. I got a paint chip above my left headlight about 2 weeks ago and couldn't stand it, it was about 1/4 inch big and stuck out on my rally red. So, I ordered the touch up paint pen from mitsu and it never filled the chip correctly and the color match was off. When I would go to clear coat the filled in spot after the paint dried for a day or 2, it would just remove the paint I put in (weird). So, I got some 3m fine scratch remover to try and level the filled in hole with the surrounding paint. Being the **** person that I am, I repeated this process trying to get it perfect. Well, as I did this I noticed the area around the chip was getting more bare (ie. to the metal) so I stopped. Now I still have the chip as well as some light bare metal spots around it!
. This area is only an inch or so that is affected by my dumbass move, but I think the hood will have to be repainted in total so it matches. Hopefully someone who knows paint can tell me if they can just spray the corner for a minimal amount? I also go to the dealer for a 1200 mile service next weekend, is it possible they would fix it under warrenty? I feel very frustrated, but it is my own damn fault I just need to know the best method to get the bare spot/chip fixed as quickly as possible. If I have to pay, how much $ you think it will be to repaint (only if you have an idea on cost please)?

A respray of your entire HOOD will be necessary to get rid of your problem area to your satisfaction.
I hit some buidling material on the FWY and have some scratches on the lower bumper and on the hood and have been quoted a repainting prices ranging from $700.00 to $1200.00 to disassemble, strip, sand, resurface, prep and paint the front bumper and hood.
Just get some estimates and don't look for the cheapest price... you get what you pay for in the end and your eVo deserves a good respray of paint.

id say that ifyou are seeing bare metal that you would be better off getting it professionally done... probably a few hundred.. depending on where you go

If you pull the hood off, and bring it to the shop separately, you should be able to get it pretty cheap. I was quoted $150 to get mine done, and that's in Canadian dollars.
