quick guage install question

I had my boost guage mounted via velcro to the top of my steering column. However, the heat or something is making the guage pod not stick to the velcro anymore. What is everyone using to mount the guage to the steering column? Is 3M double sided tape enough? Do I really need to drill into the column? Thanks for any input

Mine looks just like the picture.. used the 1/4" screws that the pod came with.. Trust me, this particular part is cheap enough to replace.. go to Mitsu and pick up a spare so you have a clean original one, then drill the sucker..

That's what I wanted to hear. I don't want the c/f one because it blocks the tach. Just personal prefernce for me. I was afraid to drill because I thought the steering column was going to be expensive. But if it is easy to replace and cheap, then I'll just do it, because I really like that spot.

Oh yeah I tried 3m tape but ened up using some 1/4 screws also. Too much torque for 3m or velcro to work

I used plastic velcro.. I called EZPass and they sent me over a bunch of them. I used them for the defi controller which i mounted in the glove box and also I used them for the Guage type Uego which was mounted on the column.. holds really good and doesn't wabble like the cloth type velcro's.
