The screen is made in honk knong i blieve, the company is called Lilliput, mine is a 7 inch VGA touchscreen.
Its hard to put a price to the project because of all the trial and error costs (extra uneeded cables and stuff like that). The screen was like $350, the computer maybe came out to like 300 or less? i dont remember....
The process was long for me....if i had to give one suggestion, that would be plan everything BEFORE you buy anything, i changed my design 5-6 times after i started buying things, it was a big waste of money. As far as electrical goes, the computer/screen is standalone, while the inverter its plugged into is wired to the battery.
I started off doing the radio relocation, then i wanted to do flush mount so i had to move the a/c, I moved that and then fabricated the center piece. Computerwise I started with a full size tower, with wires running to the trunk (not to hard to do there), and then i ended up building my own and fitting it behind the screen inside the dash board, saved lots of cabling.
I dont know if i've convered all that you were wondering about, if not go ahead and let me know.

Now you can program an Exed on the fly! You can also install OBDII software and monitor in real time! I saw one OBDII package that allowed you to display any of four gauges you wanted, that would be cool. Nice job!
