Waxing a car...

Is there a car wax where it repels water or something to preventing it from getting dirter? I mean some people wax their car, and when it rains, theres no water stains or anything. I park my car outside (its not an evo) and I wanted to know whats the best way to keep it looking like it was just waxeD??

Well actually all wax is supposed to do that. Rain-X just made a wax, so applying what they do for windows to car wax means that it should repel water as well. I really don't trust the stuff, but Mother's, Meguiar's, and Zymol have all given me water protection for at least a few days (unless it rained really hard). Good luck with picking one.

I really like the new wax by Meguires called NXT which is a synthetic wax. It goes on nicely and wipes off with no dust and leaves an incredible shine. I have experimented with many waxes over the years and this is one of the best and a good price. Zaino Bros is great, but pricey. Yeah, the wheel gap looks awful in the 2nd pic. Coilovers soon enough.

I bought some of that Rain-x wax and it actually works pretty well. After 2 coats my car felt super smooth and was looking just as good as meguiar's wax. As to repelling dust and stuff id say it works about the same as a really good wax job. Also its carnuba wax which is a plus, im not really into the new synthetic stuff.

Wax, once it's on, is pretty much the same. Synthetics are supposed to last longer than your basic waxes, and are easier to use. But all of them should prevent water stains and whatnot. What you are likely noticing "staining" your car is probably just dust. Nothing a Cali Car Duster or whatever wouldn't wipe away from a good wax job in a second or two.
