Johnjonfenomenon's: Project EVO

Here is a pic of my rally red dropped with TEIN Flex's. I installed the unit myself. Shops were charging me minimum 250 for the install. So I went to Pep Boys and purchased the tools I needed. Spent about 80 dollars but I purchased other stuff along with this. I followed this write up to do everything.

EDFC controller

So far I find these coils to be good and the edfc just makes life very convenient. For highway I set the edfc to 12. For bumps town roads I set it to 16. For more spirited driving on smooth and twisty roads it is set to 8. The only thing I find as a drawback is the softer you set the dampening upon bounce you get some chirping but for the comfort of the ride it is a sacrifice worthwhile.

so can you compare these to stock springs for us?

How long and difficult was it to install?

How do you set to diff levels?

thx

Much more superior to stock springs. But the best thing is since they are adjustable you can make them feel like stock if not even better with the ride comfortness.

Install took 3 hrs. Hardest part was going to all the stores for tools.
Strauss(liquid wrench, 1/2 inch socket set)
PepBoys(jack,stands,rollerbed,wrench set)

When you install the edfc it sets automatically. It's default is set to zero which is the hardest setting and then you work your way from there with just a touch of a couple buttons.

If anyone in the local central jersey area needs help. Hit me up with a PM. I can help you or you can just hire me for cheap!!

No no shootout for me. My car is no where near ready for that. Last night I installed my Invidia 3" turboback (catless) by myself using a dino ramp and jack stands. I will post picks later. With this exhuast system at idle its just a tad bit louder than stock and at WOT it's mean. Not so much power on the lower ends but on mid to high I notice the increase in torque and HP. Im assuming I added atleast 25 hp and 15 ft/lb of torque.

I am actually modeling my car after what you guys did to the red wrx. I am in the process of trying to find recaro material to line the headliner. After seeing your red wrx I soon developed a plan
