My coilovers squeak!!

Yo dudes....i just bought a set of HKS Hipermax Pro coilovers a couple of weeks back. The ride is pretty stiff & had me bouncing ard on the streets, but the worst thing is...it squeaks & squeaks & its driving me nuts! Is this normal? Cos the vendor claim it is....

I mean...i spend a decent sum of $$ on wat appears to be good stuff...but squeaks instead of knocks....i am confused.

Pretty obvious the squeaks. Over every bump or street irregularities....it will squeak...loud or not is subjective....but its pretty obvious enuff for me to get irritated. The cluncking noise isnt there so far....though there is slight knocking once in a blue moon. But the squeaks....feels as if a mouse is trapped somewhere!!!

Since ur friend has the same problem with the same coils, guess i gotto accept it.
Should have gotto the KW Varient 3 instead. Damn.

Guys, ALL coilovers will squeak and rattle and clank and make all sorts of weird noises. That's the nature of "race parts"

Tried my friends KW Varient 3 & Cusco 2ZeroR...not even a single noise. I mean, i am fine with the occasional knocking, but the squeaks is like....arghh.....

Guess i need a louder exhaust then. lol

+1. normal stuff. I suppose uhh.. you could try maybe cleaning them up? Mine squeaked on my IS300... and i cleaned them one time since i had a show coming up, and they never squeaked again. Are they excessivly dirty? might wanna give it a whirl if they are.

Otherwise.. maybe coilovers aren't for you.

You guys buy race parts for the street and expect that they will ride and sound like stock hahah

Dont be mad when you blow them either. If you have ever driven on a roadcourse they are well maintained and paved, not meant for driving on railroad tracks and speed bumps

Try lubricating the various parts that could potentially rub against one another with silicone grease. CRC makes an aerosol can version you can spray on the parts. You'll be surprised with the results ...

I wouldn't say it's normal for all coilovers to squeak and make noise. My Megan track coilovers don't squeek or clank
