ABS Problem

Ok guys... I know this isn't the correct place for me to post this but I figured since I'm going to put your brakes on my Galant I figured that you guys can be of help too.. Well anyways like I said and the title states it all I have an ABS problem.... I am going to do a drum to disk conversion on my 03 Galant where I am going to use your OEM Brakes(brembos), my question is can I successfully pull this off with out touching the ABS or would I have to do something to make the ABS function properly... Who here has done this type of conversion before(obviously not on an Evo) but on another tuner car...

evo abs is calibrated to evo brakes. galant abs is calibrated to galant brakes. evo brakes on galant isn't going to be calibrated right. but you can try it... drive it... beat the abs out of it, and see if all this turns out to be a bad thing. if so, you'll have to mess with master cylinders and what not. but if not... the you lucked out.

the thing is... i'm assuming you wanna go brembos from evo cuz it's cheaper or you already have a killer deal lined up. stoptech does good research and developement on their brakes, so their kits would wrok in harmony with your stock abs system. you can always give them an email and see what they have to say about stock brembos on galants.

just disable the ABS pump & as long as you can handle manual brakes you will be ok

if you dont re-calibrate the ABS, it wont be stopping the car any faster than you could on your own & you'd be better with manual brakes

it's not just simply a problem of slapping on brakes and disabling abs... if the rear brakes are too strong even if they have a smaller caliper and lock up too early your handling is ****ed.
