Cheap, Noiseless Brake Pad?
I've searched and read many threads about brake pads on here, but I'm still not sure what to get. I have some Ferodo DS2500's on the front right now. They seem fine as far as heat resistance and high performance, but I'm very unhappy with the squealing I'm getting. I did all the recommended things when installing them (pryed the old shims off the Brembo pads, used that high temp copper lube on all contact points, etc.), but they still squeak like crazy. I've decided that for the winter season (in Michigan), these pads are major overkill for my daily commute. I'd much rather have a separate set of pads for winter use (and save the wear on the $200 Ferodo's for the sportier summer months). So, my criteria for a 'winter' pad:
- Cheap (I'm thinking <$75 here, for fronts)
- QUIET (no squealing with a proper install and bedding-in)
- That's it!
With that criteria in mind, could someone recommend a low-priced pad for me?
Thanks so much,
Rob

Just a thought? They might be too cheap but hey they say their noiseless.

I have the Hawk HPS pads. They work but squeal intermittently, but not bad and the performance is good. They are around 75 buck for the fronts. Try Horsepowerfreaks.com - great place to order.
