The wheels are
PCD =5-114.3
offset = +38
hub dia =60.7
Not all wheels 17 18 or 19 will fit. They have to be what are called high pad wheels to clear the brembos. Something like the light and expensive volks CE28N pictured would work.
Don't ruin you evo with heavy aftermaket wheels. If you need to go big get something light. Don't skimp on tires either.

don't see any reason to go to 18's unless you want to fit bigger brakes (i.e. 362mm discs). Tires costs much more and you have to spend a lot just to maintain same performance. Its better to spend the money on lighter wheels and better tires.
Personally, I have gone for lighter wheels (Buddy Club P1) and they make a big difference in handling (especially turn-in feel) and acceleration. I also run Bridgestone RE540s tyres and they transform the car (4secs a lap improvement).

I'm hoping to hook up some Volk TE-37s in 18x8.5
That should lower weight and increase my handling pretty well.
Sad thing is that PA roads are going to be a bastard with 18s.
Such a shame that with one of the highest budgets in the country, PA has some of the worst roads.

Hey jedinite, that looks like the Sprint campus. You work for Sprint / PCS? I've done some usability contract work for the PCS web site, and visited the campus several times. Nice car BTW. I just ordered the 19" CHs for my '02 A4.

Actually, SCC did a test on this a couple years back. The weight may be the same, but it is further out from the hub, causing a loss in acceleration. They had 3 different wheel sizes 16,17 & 18 although same weight and rolling diameter.
I forget what issue it was in, but I think they may have even used an EVO VI.?

there isn't any reason not to go +1 or +2 as long as the overall weight of your wheel/tire doesn't increase. why would you want 18's ? your car will be slower off the line and after all i doubt you ever take corners that seriously even you do 18's will not be better then the 17's unless you are pimping it
just remember it's an evo not a civic you dont need to pimp to get noticed

I just recently installed an 18" x 8.5 Prodrive GC-06D Forged rims on a 245/40-ZR18 tires. Surprisingly, the ride now is way more comfortable than with the stock rims and tires.
