Carbon brake rotors
#3
I want Brembo to make the exact same brakes they built for the Enzo but in 12" diameter size for an a Ultima GTR.
But they have to create equal or greater brake force at normal temps. Or else don't really care for them. The only thing is that the price will be crazy. The Enzo brakes cost is $24,000.
Ouch. They better be all they say and more.

Okay first of all its not carbon fiber, its carbon\ceramic mix.
Carbon ceramic combinations usually don't create enough friction at regular day to day temps. When they get hot, like in a track, then they make a lot of friction and hold it forever without warping or fading. That along with the fact that they can be up to 50percent lighter than iron rotors of the same size, makes them perfect for track use.

You can get PCCB (Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes) which use a ceramic/carbon fiber disk as an option on the 911.

You probably don't want these for street use, as they do, as stated, need to warm up first. Venturi, however, made a name for itself by offering carbon brake rotors on street cars. I believe Porsche's are more ceramic breaks. Anyway, if you want good track brakes, get these.

Not very practical I know but still, you can't beat the "Initial D" look of having your brakes glow red while driving hard at night tho. I love how Carbon brakes look when they are being run right.
