My 04 ES had that problem last week. Took it to the body shop, ran dyno and found out that there were 3 things that were wrong.

(1) Right wheel bearing was damaged so i replaced it.
(2) Suspensions were damaged because i was into an accident. (Replaced Suspensions)
(3) Allignment was messed up
total was $1300.00

Now it runs as sooth as before.

This was problem in my car, but i dunno if its same for you guys as well.

Good Luck !!!!

vibration

Well, i had the exact same problem. The steering wheel would vibrate profusely above 70mph. I then put on a set of hotchkis springs a couple weeks ago. While i was under the car i tightened everything up including the control arms. Since then the car drives smooth as it was when i first got it. I would recomend just tightening everything and check for cracks/looseness in your suspension.

Mine does it periodically when breaking on the highway too but the pads and rotors look good. Only 11K on them. I'm going to the Mitsu shop next Sat. and I'll have them look at everything to see if anything is bent/loose.

If you are on the factory pads still it could be pad transfer to the rotors. The factory pads are bad about that.

okay a weird question - I have steering wheel vibration too, just driving at high speeds. Just had a new (used) wheel put on after hitting a median, and had all tires balanced/rotated at same time. If I have directional tires, and they rotated my wheels as if the tires were non-directional, could that cause the vibration?? (i.e., one or more of the tires are on backwards) eh? eh?? what do you guys think?

^^ yeah, but when the vibration only occurs during high-speed driving, not braking, it's a different issue.

Tires balanced and rotated and still have steering wheel vibration on the highway. Brought it back to Mitsu and had everything checked out and they said everything was tight. Steering wheel still shakes. No solutions yet. Anyone else have any luck?
