C&D/VISHNU Evo Rims
C&D/VISHNU Evo Rims
Here's the Car&Driver/Vishnu Evo at 25 hours of Thunderhill.

I know the wheels are SSR Type-C's but any size/offset ideas. How come they look oh sooo good in these pics, but on other cars they just look booboo. Haha..

They are probably 18 X 9 with a crazy offset. Hense why the spokes go in and make the wheel look better. I think those are the SSR Competitions though. The Type-C's don't have a polished lip from what I've seen on Tire Racks site.
They do look nice. I'd take them.

FWIW just cause a company files for bankruptcy doesn't mean they stop their business. It's mainly protection from lenders and in this case I'm pretty sure SSR will continue to manufacture wheels for quite some time. That being said I emailed Neil from tirerack and asked him the same thing, got a response that he was 90% sure they were the standard 18x8.5 32mm offset SSR's that tirerack offers for EVO's. After seeing pictures of other EVO's with Competitions on them I'm about 10% sure that Neil is wrong and the wheels on the thunderhill car are for another fitment and probably running spacers to accommodate a much wider wheel and tire package. The thunderhill car definitely looks much better than all the other EVO's I've seen with SSR Competitions and I've seen quite a few.
I'll ask Shiv himself when I'm at the dyno day in Atlanta and report back. Also the Thunderhill car was a pre-production MR given to Vishnu by MMNA, whereas the One-Lap car was the Vishnu shop car and that car ran 17x9 FN01-RC with BFG 255/40/17 KD rubber for One-Lap of America. That same car in the Supertuner Challenge ran Axis 18x9.5 Reverbs with 8mm spacers and 265/35/18 BFG KD's as well.
Since the Thunderhill Car was essentially a Stage 1+ MR for reliability reasons over the course of the race, I'm inclined to believe that given the competition they would have maxed out the tire/wheel combination to stay competitive. Wouldn't be surprised if those are 18x9.5 Competitions (possibly a 350Z rear wheel fitment) with spacers and hence the different visual appearance to the standard Competitions we see on other EVO's.
