popping STRUT bolt - help!!!

What I thought was the lowering springs (pop/crack) sound turns out to be the center bolt between the 3 bolts that thread the strut assembly to the strut tower brace. wheel lock to wheel lock the noise is apparent. the right wheel is not doing this. the spring is seated properly. wtf can I do about this? help!!!

Thanks in advance

Solution(s):

1) 3/8" high pressure rubber hose over spring coils
2) replace stabilizer end link (mitsu part # MR316369)
3) replace strut (not likely the problem)

Clunking will be gone...

Sorry, no pic. Go to a plumbing store (Home Depot/Lowes) or any Car Parts store. Get 2 3/8" diameter hoses - 4" long. Spray some WD on the spring (a little) and slide them over the spring. Reassemble the spring/strut. Lower the car. Say you prayers and turn the wheel... lock to lock.

And get that alignment. Should be $60 bucks for the alignment. More is a rip off...

Sure it just wasn't torqued down correctly. I've had to go back and retorque those nuts on other cars before AFTER they were mounted on the car was standing on it's own.

Yeah man, I had the same problem with my S techs. The installer torqued them down wrong and stripped out the male end. Get coilovers to take care of the problem

Do what? Why get coilovers when you could just retorque the nut?
