**STUPID*** Question

Ok so heres the problem. After I went through my stock tires I went out and purchased some all season Kuhmos. I have been driving on them for at least 9-12K without rotating them. (Like a retart) So I realized that I hadn't done it in a while so I rotated them myself this weeked. Problem is now I have a wheel shimmy/vibration at highway speeds. Any idea on what this is? Im guessing I either need an alligment or my tires are shot b/c i didnt rotate them. Any input?

Your wheels probably need to get balanced ... because of the constant uneven wear ...

yea, try balancing them, if that doesnt fix the shimmy, its cause the tires are worn uneven. Sometimes they will smooth out a little while after rotating but sometimes its there till you replace them.

any of you guys heard of some special kind of air to pump up your tires so that it wont inflate during hot climates? This shop I went to uses this special kind of air and charges about 10 bucks for four tires, guaranteed your tires will stay the same.

I hope you don't believe him.

Air is approximately 78% Nitrogen. Nitrogen and any other gas will increase in pressure when heated, if volume is held relatively constant (like inside a tire). Have you heard of the ideal gas law?
