your rotors might be warped.

Bring it in! That happened to me in the beginning too, LOL.

Brakes/Rotors or alignment or both.

How many miles do you have on the car? Have you had to do the brakes yet?

its an 03 with about 26,000 miles but the person i bought it from just replaced the front/rear brake pads and machined the rotors, and i ahve teh reciept for it. he got it done at 22,665 miles. also, the brakes squeek when coming to a stop with little pressure on the brakes. only happens when i press the brakes softly.

Yeah, just bring it in and tell them your steering wheel really begins to shake when you brake. They'll do the rest.

my guess would be pad transfer not warped rotors. take it up to speed and stop hard aobut a half dozen times or so. I bet they will smooth out.

Could be deposits on the rotors. Or if the pads aren't stock, perhaps the pads weren't bedded correctly…

If you decide to try the hard stops, bring the temperature of your rotors up gradually, so you don't shock your rotors with extremely hight temps (this could definitely warp them). Start by slowing down a few times applying medium pressure for 2-second intervals to bring your temps up and then do a few fairly hard applications at speed (2-second intervals). Don't come to a complete stop, if you can help it. This may make things worse by adding more deposited material because the rotors are hot. Do a couple of hard slow-downs and then just cruise to let your brakes cool down for a bit.

Had the same problem (but at higher speeds) after I had new wheels put on. The guy who installed the wheels torqued the #$%@ outta the lug nuts, I loosened the lugs and re-torqued em to a lower lb. and then did the heat up the rotor trick. Problem solved. Be sure to check em for tightness after a day or so, to ensure they have seated on the hub correctly.
