PZero Nero
PZero Nero
Does anyone else here have the pzero nero 235/45/17? I just bought these and now I wish I would have just bought the advans again. They feel really good but just feels like the rear end moves too much when accel and decel through a turn. I have played with the psi a lot and I have 46 all around now to stiffen up the sidewall. Anyone else have these and maybe have a good suggestion on psi?
They make my car feel unsafe. To give a for instance, there is a "closed road" turn near my house hehe that I can come through at 120 without thinking twice. I am scared to go like 85 on it with these tires because if you let off accel it feels like the whole car shifts and is a VERY scary feeling. They have not actually slid out on me yet but I am too scared to push it that hard with these. I might just bite the bullet and sell these and buy another set of the advans. Anyone know where the cheapest place to get them is?
Had a set of the neros on my saab 9'3 ( lightly modded). Handle decent, but for that car( also felt unsafe sometimes). I would definantly take a loss, but its worth it in the end.
Comparing the neros to the advans is like apples and oranges. If you wanted the performance, you have to go with the advans. I have the Neros and I love them, the car does have more body roll with them, but it is manageable. If you are complaining about "unsafe" and you are doing 120mph on the street then I don't know what to tell you. I can tell you they last about 30k miles.

i have these tires. got them out of necessity. my advans were pretty worn in december and it was starting to snow constantly and after getting caught in the snow with the advans twice, i made the switch. they are good for this car for the snow and not to bad in the rain, but i don't like their dry performance in the hotter weather. the sidewalls aren't stiff enough and they feel skwirmy at times. i want the advans back so i'm going to get a set of the mr bbs rims so i can have them back and save these for the winter.
By the way, I use the Kuhmo's in the fall, winter, and spring, I stick with the OEM Advans during the summer. You arent gonna find anything comparable to the Advans from a All-Season tire like the PZero Nero or even the Kuhmo ASX's. If you want dry weather grip and you are really that picky about the tires then I think you are best off getting either the Advans or some other kind of ultra performance summer tire. I've used the Kuhmo MX's with great luck for the summer on my Eclipses.
46 PSI is WAY too much pressure. You're lucky you haven't blown them out at the speeds you say you're driving. That's pretty dangerous.
And if you're complaining about the tires being squirmy at 120mph...I'm not sure how to say this in a nice way...but PZero Nero's aren't Advans, they're not even close.
I'm getting a set of these in a few weeks. I could care less about body roll, I don't race my car, I really don't drive it hard at all. I just want a good handling all-weather tire that's not noisy and won't wear out in 15,000 miles. At $233 each from Tire Rack, the Advans aren't even an option, especially if I'm having to replace them every year.
