What is recommended in terms of whether the rotors should be plain, slotted, dimpled, or slotted+dimpled? I mean I don't ever track my car just enjoy the occasional spirited driving.

Any suggestions?

your best bet is what I chose: slotted and dimpled.. Best of both worlds and you can turn the rotors a few times... I have now been on the same rotors and pads for 3 yrs.. The car makes over 500 on pump and I have done numerous drag and auto x events and sprints to 180+ and they still stop like day one!

For street use I'd go with plain rotors. I had the slotted+dimpled set, and while they work fine, they are noisy ... as-in you can hear the dimples buzzing past the brake pad when you're cruising around town with the window rolled down. Sounds like a gang of crickets is following the car all the time.

I just received my new set, which are slotted (not dimpled). I went with slotted because I feel that they will be better on the track. I'll post some impressions when I have the car back on the street.

Anybody else have noise problems with slotted/dimpled? I am getting ready to purchase a set. Don't mind noise but not too annoying.

sure if you love to swap pads.

no gain with a slotted rotor. it clears the pad face every revolution (chews pad).

Talking

I know this may be a lot to ask but, can somebody post a youtube video of what the slotted rotors sound like? I tried searching but didn't find anything.

The plain or sloted make no noise at all. The dimples make the sound that Ludi mentioned above. I have the slotted and dimpled but the noise doesnt bother me at all. The RS has the plain slotted
