I used that dupllicolor paint. Mine faded from black to a dark grey. But I think if you really go crazy with it, and do some wet sanding, they should stay pretty nice.
I ordered a set of the NT03+M's and noticed in some photos that there seems to be 2 valve stems. Is this a purge valve or something for inert gas?
Having had Fikse's before, I think we're very fortunate to have good, cheap, strong wheels available for our cars. Reading some of the posts on 6speedonline, those Pcar types are so caught up on having the right bling factor wheels on their cars even when you can dent those spun rims so easily on curbing. I appreciate the fact that the Evo community is much more performance oriented. Sure, we might not look as good, but we're damn fast!

Yes, it's for using nitrogen. You need to purge out all of the air acouple of times to try and get as close to 100% nitrogen as possible, so you can hook up vaccuum to one valve stem and purge air as you fill the other with nitrogen. It's the moisture in air that causes most of the thermal expansion that causes inconsistansies in your hot tire temperatures. Properly bottled nitrogen is almost completely dry, giving you constant expansion rates fill after fill.Originally Posted by EricR

Oh, and these 18x9.5 NT03's, do they have the same offset that Kozarov's do?
uhm... that totally looks like it will eat the front tire... is that clearin' everything??????Originally Posted by TheGVR4kid

I don't know any of the specs of that car besides what I can discern in pictures from the OTC. I believe he was running 265/35/18s, I could be wrong though, the pictures didn't blow up too well.Originally Posted by trinydex

If anyone knows this guy (Robi?) could you bring him over here to answer some of our questions.

Yes, it always gets mentioned as the Vesko or Kozarov car for whatever reason. It's got Utah plates. Could you get his wheel/tire info?Originally Posted by scott88vr6

That's what happened when powder coating is not done right. Powder coating can weaken the strength of the metal. A lot of guys that powder coat their rims usually do it just for show and not track.

I will email Matt, the owner, of the car tomm and try to find out. I do know they are 18x9.5, but what offset and tire size I don't know.Originally Posted by TheGVR4kid

I will be running 18x9.5 w/ 40 offset. Front and rear.
Both fenders have been massaged and rear has been cut too, a la' Robi Spec. A spacer is required up front.
Tires will be Hoosiers 275/35/18's

wouldn't the +27 offset work better than the +40 in 18x9.5.
i would think if you ran the +27 no spacers would be needed.the only difference is they'll stick out alittle more.
i run a +22 on a 17x9.5,and it's not bad at all.

Not sure to be honest with you.... I am certainly not a wheel expert by any means.
This set up comes proven from Robi, so there is no guess work involved.
The wheels should work great for the rear and with spacers up front the car will 'track out' more up front.. which should be ideal for me.

the spokes would hit the brembos remember the offset is less but the spoke location remains in the same location in relationship to the caliper.Originally Posted by evo81

also the evo has a funny combination outside clearance problems on the rear and inside problems on the front...I did 9.5" wheels with 30 offset recently and the rear was closer than I would usually chance (I haven't tested how stiff that particular wheel is) and although I'm sure the tire won't cut down you might get some smoke and burnt paint if the wheel has too much dynamic spoke flex. I set up "my" cars so they maintain full wheel travel and the DMS 50 set-up takes advantage of this wheel movement allowing me to aggressivly attack curbs without unsettling the car in any way.
