question

is anyone running stock shocks on there 03-05 evo 8 with lowering springs? if so what springs and how is the ride?

i dont want to get them, put them in and have my stock shocks be not be able to handle the difference in height

Not generally recommended. The stock struts are made for a spring of that height. If you get lowering springs, I'd say get aftermarket struts to go with them.

yeah i wasnt sure if the shocks on the evo were able to handle the hight difference. thanks

I disagree. the evo was actually designed with a stiffer spring in mind (they softened the springs for the US market but left the shocks alone.)

Several companies make very good lowering springs that perform well at the track. The Works lowering springs were designed to work with the stock struts. Robi (robispec, aka robert fuller) reccomends Espelir GT springs with his "budget" setup. That setup is a great track performer.

I have Tein S-Tech springs on stock shocks in 03 GSR, 13K miles, Buschur stage 4, ton of track days, no issues whatsoever

there are TONS of people running springs without issue.

Best handling ones we have used are: Tanabe, Hotchkit, Eibach, Espelir

Tein S tech - nice drop, but not the best handling on this car
