Responsive Tires

Does anyone know of a tire in a 245 or 255 for a 17x9 +35 Volk that would feel as responsive as the stock set up? I would also like a tirethat has a nice rim gaurd as these CE's are not cheap and I do not want any curb rash. Size and Brand reccomendations please, pics if available...I have searched this but the opinions seem to be unsettled. Thanks Gents

The Neovas are nice. Not quite as responsive as the stockers, although it doesn't help that I'm running 245s on an 8 inch wheel. With them stretched out on a 9 inch wheel they may be close to the stock tires.

I have been looking as well since I just upgraded wheels and still on the stock tires though. If you don't want an r compound which you probably don't, the best are the bfg kd can be found in bfg kd's can be had in 255 40 17 wich will work perfectly for you or the Neovoas as mentioned above. these are the best non r compound tires...period...they are pricey but awesome. On a cheaper scale...the new falken azenis are said to be really good. A guy had them on his evo at the last autocross and raved about them. They can be had in 255 40 17 as well.

Now you can probably even run a larger tire if you really wanted too, but if your not road racing the car I wouldn't push it.

Going with the volks aye

Oh yeah, just talked to your buddy Tym....white rabbit and alky inj. looks to be in my future

255/40/17 Toyo Proxie RA-1....they are R compound street tires that are awesome. They may not last as long as stocks but are way stickier. They cost about $165 off of aimtire.com

What about the Toyo T1-R or T1-S? I heard the T1-S is discontinued in the 255/40 but the T1-R is it's replacement in that size. I am in the same boat too and was recommended the Toyos for my 5Zigens.
