Smile Lowering Spring Drop & Ride Quality.

I know this has been talked about to no end but I would like if pictures could be posted with set up discription and opinion of quality of ride compared to stock. I drive mostly in the city and can not justify coilovers for my purposes so I need to find somthing more suitable for me a much lower stance with an aggressive feel an look.

Get the hotchkis springs. The drop is nice, about 1.5 front, 1.0 rear. They are a progressive rate spring, so the normal bumps, tar strips etc in the road are much smoother than with the stock fronts.

In the twisites, they tighten up nice and corners is way better than stock. The tires don't rub (unless you have a dent in your fender like me).

I highly recommend them. Check out www.lancershop.com. That's where I got mine

How are springs on the track? Does the car perform any better? Anyone have any numbers to prove this either way?

This is a pic of my car dropped on Tein S Techs.

Honestly I am not sure about improving performance, but the ride is actually a small bit smoother. Hope this helps.

I have Tanabe 210s on my car, and it increased oversteer some (which I like).

I am not familiar with Hotchkis product, I like the drop of the Tein S-Techs but would like to keep the ride as firm as possible. I have always been happy with the quality of H&R but I do not know if they make springs for the Evo or what kind of ride they would offer? Is anyone here running H&R either springs or coilovers?

What springs lower the Evo 8 the most aside from coilovers? Tanabe GF210 & Tein S Techs seem to be pretty dramatic but are they the lowest?

S Tech is much lower than the Tanabe springs...click on my sig to see some pics of the Tanabe drop if your interested. I would go with H Techs if you are more concerned for performance...S Tech is more of a "show drop"

How bout this for what I am looking for....

I want my car dropped about an inch - inch an a half.....but I DONT want to screw up my handling or ride. I figure they won't do much performance wise to enhance the cars handling, I just dont want to screw it up!

Will springs do the trick or am I playing with fire?

My gf210's make the car handle alittle better however the ride is definately alot stiffer (less comfortable) but I didn't buy this car for a comfortable ride. They also lower the car a little more than most springs and you sure can't beat the price for them either.
