Question Stock ADVAN A-046 availability?

A wicked puncture has brought the purchase of new pair of A-046 to the fore. Noticed on the TireRack.com that all warehouses today (7/4/05) indicate "On Backorder", the Yokohama site doesn't seem to make mention of the A-046. Is Yokohama discontinuing the tire?

ive noticed this for a while too. local folks with low miles on 'em seems like the best bet. some are going for cheap...shame on me for passing up 500 bucks for less than 300 miles on em.

There are plenty of other excellent tires out there with better treadwear and are much easier on the wallet. Why don't you just get something else?

I'm guessing that is because the advan 046 are definitely one of the best non-r compound competition tires offered in the domestic market. Only thing that is close or better is the advan 048's or the Bridgestone RE070's.

I highly recommend the Yokohama Advan Neova. They are slightly less responsive than the A046s, but provide better grip in wet and dry and are also more comfortable for every driving. I'm the type of person that would almost completely sacrifice comfort for performance, and I am very happy with this tire. I have had the Neovas for ~2500 miles and 1 autocross, and they are great. An added plus is that they come in about $100 cheaper for all 4. Hope this helps,

-Paul
