If lower using H-tech springs do u need new shocks?

I was reading in 1 of the import mags I get every month and it said if u lower your ride u should get new shocks too. Because the shocks are made for the factory ride height. So I'm thinking about getting Tein H-techs for my Evo so should I get new shocks too? If so, what kind?

Also in Turbo mag this month it says that lowered Evos suffer from bump steer in the rear due to the location of the toe links. So would I need a bump steer correction kit?

Increased spring tension + lowered center of gravity will put a huge toll on your factory struts. Give it a few months and they'll leak/blow. Do it once, do it right...coilovers .

you have to cut the bump stops which takes all of 10 seconds. The H-techs are excellent springs to use with the stock struts. They lower the car to a perfect height and actually make the ride more comfortable.

i had them on my last car...and the new owner of the car (who i know very well) still has the springs on the car and from my understanding is very happy with them as well. I will also be buying these springs for my 05.

also, 2 of the 3 owners of Turbotrix racing are running H-techs on stock shocks everyday on their evos which are both their daily drivers.....no problems

and just to ad icing to the cake...the third owner....when he sold his EVO....had H-techs on the car with stock struts.

I had them and liked them too. No need for changing the shocks.

after about 2k mile my car handles like crap now. I think the stock struts are damaged, if I had to do it again I would not get springs. Save your money and get coilovers, not worth it for the springs and the install price.

well, there are no shocks made for the Evo, except the Bilsteins from the MR - so you dont have a choice

that being said, there are better springs than the H Techs if you want looks and performance - Tanabe, Eibach, either of the Espelir's or Hotchkis would all be much better choices IMHO
