Yes, I didn't think of LFB. Dragging the brakes like that heats them up much worse than short, hard jabs like you see on the track. In that case, Hawk Blues would be an even worse choice! They fade rather quickly if you drag them.

not required but nice. if your rotors are warped and you are getting vibration in the wheel under braking, you should get them cut before they get so bad you need to replace them. and if you think pads are expensive. haha $$$$$$. of course, then it's not $800 for pads + install. its $800 for pads, install, and rotor resurfacing. which is fair considering mitsu charges $78/hr and it could save you from a set of $$$$$$ rotors.

That along with a full tank of gas and a paid lap dance (with beautiful lady of course)

You can do the pad change in < 2 hr. Good luck.

pads

Damn that is a high quote. Just buy some performance pads and do it yourself. You'll save a lot of money.

Porterfield R4S pads...best street pad I've ever used (and I've used a lot!) Either those of PFC's, they're on the expensive side.

I just did front and rear pads (Hawk HPS) and they are GREAT. No noise, low dust, stock performance if not better! Got rears at Tirerack for $75! Fronts from LancerShop

Ridiculous.

I'm back to finding aftermarket pads and a new installer.

Suggestions?
Buy some pads online or you can get cheaper ones and install them yourself. you will save most of that 800.

There is a guy locally who had his pads replaced at a local dealership for an outrageous amount, he ended up having bad squeeking a few days after, they hadn't even lubed the sides of the pads. Do it yourself, and if your not sure I'm sure one of the guys local to you will be willing to help out. Its an easy job.

We like the Hawk, Endless, and Porterfields here!

I have the Endless SSS on my Evo and it works great!

DIY all the way. Here's how I did it: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...8&postcount=42

If your rotors are warped, I'd get a set of replacement rotors from rotorpros (get the blanks, not slotted/dimpled -> ok, if you have to, get slotted but not dimpled , and get them unpainted). If you get the stock rotors cut, yes they will last a little while longer, but when you start cutting (turning) them, they will just warp that much faster.

Total bill for a complete brake overhaul should look something like:

~$200 - Hawk HPS front and rear pads (assuming street use here)
~$300 - Rotorpro front and rear rotors
~$ 32 - Motul RBF 600 brake fluid (two containers) to flush your brake system
~$ 10 - miscellaneous stuff (i.e. clear hose to drain BF, breaker bolt for rotors, etc.)
------------
~$542 + one afternoon in your garage = complete brake job on your Evo ... all shiny new parts

I got the same rotors (dimple and slotted) but haven't put them on yet. I don't think you can get them for $300 anymore. How are the rotors holding up? I hope they will be okay for street use and occcasional track. Hope the wheels won't start to shake after a bit too

You should be able to get them for very close to the same price. The group buy wasn't that much cheaper than regular price, and if you get blanks, they are cheaper still. I initially installed mine with the slots turning into the pads but have since flipped them.
When you install the slotted rotors, it seems that they pickup less brake dust if the slots don't turn into the pads, and with the rotorpros either direction does work, since the internal vanes on the rotors are not directional.
