Most Responsive 18" Tire?

Just curious which 18" tire will give me the best steering response. I LOVE the EVO for it's amazing steering, and I've heard of people loosing some of that feel by changing from the stock Advans. I'd love some 18" CE28Ns for my car, but it's not worth the great look if I'll lose any handling response, even if the ultimate grip levels remain the same. On my last car, a 2000 Vette Hardtop, I had the Michelin PS2s and loved them, but heard from a few people that they don't work so well on the EVO. I've also heard good things about the Neova's, but people have reported losing steering response with them as well.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Also, what CE28N or LE28N would look best on black? I'm between 3 choices; bronze, gunmetal, and black with polished lip.

Thanks.

Flat out best steering response would be from the Hoosier A3S05 in 285/30/18.

For a street tire I would have to recommend the Falken Azenis RT-615. Awesome in the 17" size, I can only assume the same in the 18" size.

Ask rays if they can get you a bronze with a polished lip. That would look very very sick.

I have heard really good things about the pirelli P-zero tires.

From my experiences with pzero tires, they suck. I had one blow out on a Jaguar XJR at 15,000 miles, and before that the traction was marginal at best. I think they are way overrated, and I can't believe Ferrari still uses them standard. I replaced the Pzero's with BFG T/A KDWII's, and they were absolutely awsome.

Easy the ADVAN Neova AD07 are the best with a firm sidewall. These tires are comparable to the stock tires

Wow, just looked and the Neova's are really expensive. I hope they last a long time. The Azenis are going to be much less expensive and they wear very well if you are conservative with the camber and toe. I have 15000 street miles, 12 autocrosses, and a couple trips to the 1/4 mile and they have lots of tread left.

I don't know which Pirelli tire people have been using, but in my experience Pirelli PZero Rosso (summer tire) is the best out there. That tire has GREAT grip in dry/wet conditions, the downside is that it won't last long.

for response you want something with a stiff sidewall, so getting hte proper profile is important. 35 is good for 255 and 265 in 18" altho 265 will require some modifications. 255 requires none. rt-615 is great. any of the r compounds the toyo proxes ra-1 standing out with notoriously stiff sidewall. the neova is basically like the stock advan. but it's costly like the stock advan too. bfg kd.

the neova ad07 isn't available in 245/40/18.. only the A048 and i know nothing about that tire..

i'm worried about going down to a 235/40/18 just to get that tire..

would the neova ad07 be comparable to the Toyo T1-R?

if you have the money, the Yoko A028 are very similar spec to our A046's but i don't know anyone that has any experience with them.

why would you get 245? 255 and 265 are what you want...

well, i'm going to be running 18x9 Advan RS' in the +29 GTR-Face.

it's an aggressive offset and i dont want to experience any fender rubbing.

if i could pull off 255 i would totally do it.

why would you run such an aggressive wheel and not want fender rubbing? just get your fenders done. i don't understand why people will spend 3000 on wheels nad tires and then say... wah... i don't wanna roll or shave my fenders. just spend 60 bucks... get the sodding things shaved in the rear and you'll have NO problems... spend another 10 bucks and some elbow grease and touch up the shaved fender and you'll have NO rust. or bettter yet coat it with something like a urathane caulk so it won't cut yer hand when you go under there.

with 255 you won't have problems in the front... only with 265
