Changing Rotors with new pads?

Changing Rotors with new pads?

I bought some Hawks HPS pads for my car. Do I need new rotors for the car as well? Its my first set of new pads. Thanks.

It depends if you have a vibration. Most of the time all you have to do is replace the pads. Make sure you BED in the pads as per the directions.

go to stoptech.com and read ALL of the tech articles, it'll save me a half hour of typing. The simple answer is NO is you havent got a vibration. yes, if you feel your pedal shaking. All things equal, a skim from a good shop and BEDDING THE PADS IN PROPERLY. This will yield plenty of troubl free services.

if they were fine then no.. i have a set of stock fronts new if you do need new rotors

Naw, you dont need new rotors. Just bed the pads properly per the manufacturer's guidelines.

I've gone from endless ccx to project mu titan kai to performance friction pads on my current set of rotors. No problems.

oh yeah... forgot to mention... i have 20k miles on the stock pads and rotors. No warping of course, but the rotors do wear down right? how many miles till i have to replace them? not soon hopefully?

with HPS pads...you got a while more to go...they are really mild pads.
