Baby friendly suspension setup?

I'm gonna be a dad in next year.

I'd like to soften up my car so that it's a little more baby friendly. Currently I have hotchkis springs with KDW tires. Anyone have a suggestion of a good setup that's softer then what I got. Money is not a real issue, but I refuse to get rid of my Evo.

I had the K-Sport coil-overs installed on mine. They're like 32-way adjustable and once you have it set up and aligned, you can adjust the dampering in about 10 seconds using the little keys that are supplied. Then, when the baby is not riding in the car and you want to have some fun...put the key back in, turn it a few times for each wheel and your suspension is stiffened back up. I love mine (both appearance and ride) and you can't beat the price.

your in sc so im not sure what your best options are......

But RoadRace Engineering here in california supposedly can setup a coil-over system to handle better then stock, yet have much more comfort.

Im sure if you called them they could help you figure something out and even ship you a pre-dialed suspension setup.

Good luck

If you get a good car seat you shouldn't have to worry. The Evo's susoension isn't that hard to impact a young one. I have had kids in my car, no problems. If not, looks like it's time to get the minivan.
Oh congratulations by the way.

Honestly, I would not put a new born in the evo, unless you live in an area where the streets are as smooth as glass. The suspension is too stiff/jarring. I've heard that the tien coilovers with edfc is extremely flexible. You can stiffen it up or make the ride "cushion-like". The down side to having the settings on the softest is that the coilovers seem to make "chirping" noises every time you go over a bump. The best thing about this set up is that it is adjustable from inside the car!

This part is hearsay: I've heard that rebuilding the coilovers can take alot of $ and time (to source the parts). Also that you will have to rebuild them every 30-40K miles. Dont know how reliable that info is but you should pm other owners.

Keep us informed!

The Evo's ride didn't bother my daughter. Save your money. What you need to watch out for is how fast you take corners. My wife is always reminding me.

My wife and I took our little one home from the hospital in the Evo. I think he enjoys riding in it b/c he generally falls asleep too (exhaust soothes him).

He is now a little over 5 months old and still rides in it. Doesn't seem to mind at all.

We use my wife's 4Runner for trips though. You can't fit much in the trunk of the Evo when you have a stroller in the trunk...

But congrats on the little one! I have been loving every minute w/ my son! Nothing like it in the world.

Everyone says having a child will change things, and it does, but for the better.

My son is only 11 months, so I've had my Evo before we had him. The biggest problem you will have isnt your suspension, its acceleration. You have to be real careful how you hit the gas especialy if they are sleeping because their heads will bounce around real easy. Other than that no problems.
