EBC Yellowstuff type R

Hi,

Has anyone every tried EBC's new Yellowstuff Type "R" (racing) brake pads?

Any opinions?

just tried them out this past week.
made the mistake of not using the stock shims on the rears as they came with their own.
squeeled like a *****.
once i put back the stock shims with the supplied shim also, the brakes where freaking silent. these puppies put the stock pads to shame.
stopping from 100mph to zero in a few seconds hurts! my wife looked like a bobblehead doll as i bedded in the pads.
used stoptechs recommendation for break in.
the only question is how will these hold up at the track.
stay tuned.

I can't wait to see your review. You wrote that the stock shims were put togheter. Which stock shim? organic from the stock pads or the stock metal shim?

both rear shims where used along with the yellowstuff shim glued on the rear pads.

Sorry to bump an old thread but I need some information on these pads. What are the MOT on these? I'm looking into these race pads cuz they are very inexpensive compared to ferodo ds3000, pfc 97, hawk ht-10 etc. but the ones I'm looking at does not say Type R.

Did you ever try them at the track? How were they for repeated hard braking?

Nevermind, I just searched and found that their MOT is 800C which is around 1472F. Pretty damn good for the price too. The MOT is comparable to hawk ht-10, ferodo ds3000 and pagid r4 (black). I think I'm going with these for my next track event.

The old yellows sucked, havent tried th new compound. I always make apoint to stay away from EBC, but my roomate tried the new yellows and hasnt had any problems. He likes them very much.

how do you distinguish the old yellowstuff with the new ones? Do they still sell the old ones or are only the new ones out now? I wanna stay away from the old ones if they are still circulating around.

Be my guest. the HP+ is a better pad than the yellow. don't forget to write a review so people dont ask again, but search for it.

I did search for it but all i got was mixed reviews here on evoM, how else did you think I found this thread along with a few others? I searched another forum and got a more clear review. I will contribute and write my own on here since there isn't any real review on these pads.

My rsx didn't have any fading issues at the track but since the evo is a lot heavier I tend to fade those easily, this is the only reason I'm looking into race pads.

If you fade a street tire evo with HP+'s you are doing something very wrong.
