need help on tire sizes please!

okay I got some rims(not here yet, but need to order tires) and they are 18X9. My car is very low and do not have rolled fenders. What size tire can i run? 2 questions...what size..and what profile. 255's will rub i think without rolling my fenders. I have seen 235's on this rim...but thats streching it. 245's maybe? Also...what profile...35 or 40? I was thinking 245/40/18 any suggestions? thanks!

A 245/35r18 will fit the rim properly and is 24.7 inches tall, slightly shorter than the factory tire (approximately 25.25" tall), but the 245/40r18 is 25.8" tall and could cause some serious "rubbin'". I have 18x9 wheels with 235/40r18 and they fit the will width fine and no rubbing (my car is pretty low too).

You should be safe with 245/35/18 for those 18x9 wheels.

hey nlped thanks. does the offset make a difference in this? Also I have seen 235's on a 9"rim but the kinda looked "balloned" as in the rim kind of sticks out alot more then the tire(its streched) is this ok? so i guess its a wider more lo-pro(245/35) or a skinner fatter tire(235/40) is this correct?
