Dirty Dirty Bilsteins

After only 3 1/2 weeks of owning my 9, my Evo's driver side bilstein is completley black. I assume it is covered with soot or something. The funny thing is, the passenger side is fine, I can still see all the yellow in it. Who else is running into this problem and if you are running into it, how are you cleaning them off? Thanks
