Track Set Ups .. Need some opions

Hey guys I'm looking to get a track set up for my car. I just wanted to see what you guys are running your self. I'm planning on getting the Varis +10mm front fenders but im going to keep the rear ones stock (except I'm going to get them rolled by Robi)

Ok I've been doing some searching and came up with some stuff.

I know Nils is running Enkei NT03+M in 18x9.5 +40mm with a 17 mm spacer and running 275/35/18s

I know that a few other guys are running the Enkei RPF1s in 17x9.5 but im not sure of the offset (im guessing is +38 as thats all thats listed on Enkei's website).

I also grabbed my hyper rev mag an scanned through it and noticed that 17x9.5 and 18x9.5 seem to be the common size rims but they all (for the most part) seem to runn 255/40/17or18 ... Yokahama A048 ... anyone know why they seem to like the 255/40 so much ??? on both 18 & 17 rims?

also why would one pick the 18" set up over the 17" set up if they are both running 255/40 ?

Yea so much so that I feel like I need to get to work on the car ... LOL

So do you think the Enkei RPF1s in 17x9.5 with 255/40/17 YH A048 would be a good set up? It seems like that it would be and wouldn't break the bank.

Robi says the RPF 1's have wheel flex during long hard sweepers...

forget A048's.. go with RA-1's or NT01's.

wider is better.. with Robi massaging and cutting your fenders you can fit 275's under there no problem. I say go with 17x9.5 Enkei NT03's..... strong and fairly cheap.

And you can run 255/40/17's on 17x9, ET35 wheels without rubbing, AT ALL. You don't need to go up to 9.5 unless you're a madman like Nils and need those 275's under there.

Whith the rpf1's 9.5's if you havent rubbed them on your trailing arms you haven't been trying hard enough lol ;-)...
+40 clears I ran my f1's with 6mm spacers and STILL hit the trailing arms....ymmv

the tires they use are "cheater 255's my 255 TOYO R888's stack up next to 275 RA1's and only lack 3/4" for the TOTAL stack.....we just ran a track weekend on Hoosiers 245's on 9.5" rims TALK ABOUT FAST!!!...NTO3's are the real deal in 17's or 18's.....I also have a good solutionto the lack of wheels here.....email for the details.....info@robispec.com

yeah, i asked him this morning about the nt-01's and how we have very unique weather down here as far as rain or shine, and he advised me to stay with the ra-1's (never seen the tread on the nittos'), due to the probabity of running on wet.

Who knows, i'd like to win the lotto and get another set of wheels anyways

edit: haha, he beat me to it

So the 255 YH A048 they list in the Hyper Rev mag are not really 255s per say?
