building a handling setup?

I have got 2006 IX. I also happy with my stock suspension it is soft and good ... but need some aggresive handling and look ...

I think two options. Please think about the price / performance rates ... which is the best handling option ?

1- Tein Stech or Tanabe springs + Cusco rear and front sway bars ?

2- Tanabe Sustec PRO S-OC TYPE 2 or TEIN FLEX with EDFC ?

Coilover is the best I think but other setup is more soft and low price ...
maybe .. ?

advice please ...

I can't support your choice of springs, especially the Tein S-tech ... do it right and go with coilovers if you decide to change your suspension.

You don't have to upgrade your front sway bar (unless you want more understeer) just upgrade your rear to a 25mm, which will give the car a more neutral feel. I ordered the Perrin 25mm rear, and hopefully it will be here soon.

SWIFT springs, if you must get lowering springs. Get coilovers if you can.

If you looking for springs you should give Robert over at Robispec a shout because i think he has or can order special springs to his spec that is meant to be used with the factory strut.

But personally I wouldnt bother with springs at all ... get coilovers ... they cost more but are worth every cent IMO.

so what coilovers do people recommend for the IX? Mostly street (some track) and I can stand a harsh ride.

+1,000,000 for coilovers! + rear sway bar + rear strut bar + the right alignment setup

I would do a front sway bar to help stabilize the car more but you would need the right combo spring rates, rear bar, and alignment settings to utilize it properly.

You can also make the front bar adjustible by have a hole drilled where the swaybar link hooks-up. There is a write-up in the "how to" section. I did it on my last Evo and it seemed to help (a little). but if you were to get a new front sway, it's a PITA to install.

Do some researching (there's a ton of info here) and figure out exactly what you want. Asking guys here, will only confuse you cause everyone likes their cars set-up differently for the most part.

I would highly reccomend the WORKS Ride Springs. We have those springs specially made for the valving of the stock shocks. They are not just a "Lowering" spring, like most others on the market. We have actually trested the stock shocks on the shock dyno and designed our springs using that data. Therefore the WORKS Ride springs work the best out of all the stock replacement springs that we have tested with.

Unfortunately the WORKS Ride Springs are still on a backorder though. Please call for an ETA.
