Brake rotor or pad problem?

I know this is the wrong forum but this one is read the most and will get the most exposure so here's my story...

About 2 weeks ago I noticed my brakes were having that metal dangly sound when ever driving around, as well as grinding when I came to a complete stop.

I ordered BRAND NEW HAWKS HPS pads from extreme psi for front and back.

When they came in my friends and I changed out the front pads because a friend of mine told me the back ones weren't used that much.

It was still making that sound. Someone commented to me that my rotors were bad and needed to be resurfaced.

I drove it to my friends shop to get the fronts resurfaced and it was still happening.

They looked at my rears rotors and said they needed to be resurfaced and asked me if I'd brought my rear pads with me. NO Damnit. Drove back home to get them and came back. They looked at my rotors again and told me I couldn't resurface them because there wasn't enough room.

We decided to just go ahead and buy brand new rotors. I bought some from a group buy here

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...3&page=1&pp=15

they LOOK like this

on the left.

Anyhow I had all of them switched out yesterday as well as my rear pads and its still making all those grinding and metal sounds as I drive.

What else could it possible be?

HELP!!

is your car lowered? any suspension work? And this only occurs when braking or driving around too?

could be your hubs. Mine went bad and the calipers keep on grinding against my rotors. jack up your car and see if any of the front wheels wobble.

kk. thanks

no, bone stock suspension and height. and it sounds like metal is dangling when driving around (very loudly and only on the right side) and the heavy grinding is when stopping all around

if you drive and then let go of the steering wheel while on a level area, does it pull in a certain direction? (both, while driving and try again while braking.)

Here is something you can try with a friend ofcourse:
1. Jack up one side of the car
2. Take off the wheel
3. Turn the steering so that the front of the hub points outside
4. Try moving and playing with the rotor, see if makes a sound when trying to move it ... try it while lightly pressing on the brakes
5. Could be a rock or something stuck between ... look carefully

You might have to take of the caliper to find out what the problem is, ofcourse use a jackstand to be safe .... Goodluck
