Bridgestone RE050 @ TireRack - $109/e

TireRack has a good deal on the Bridgestone RE050's @ 109$/each (235/45-17)

Just a heads-up! Ordered a set today.

is there a difference between the RE050A and the RE050A Pole Position?

Is this also the STi factory tire?

I love my re050a pole positions. I am positive there are differences between the two tires, but can only tell you about the pole positions. Wet traction= way better than the stock yoko's; dry traction is equal to stock yoko's and response is equal to the stockers. If you can't tell yet, I love these tires! BTW people said these were 27 lbs as per the tire rack site, but bridgestones own site has them at 25 lbs which equals the weight of the yoko a048, for those concerned about unsprung weight. Oh and the best part for last... my car rides smooth as butter; my wife actually ENJOYS the ride now lol, this tire is much much smoother on the pavement than the stock yokos. Hope this helps.

Yes there is a difference. The RE050A pp is a new tire with differnt tread and compound from the old re050. I think bridgestone should of named them something else to avoid all this confusion. And also neither of these tires are the Sti stock tires. Those are RE070

The stock STI tires are RE070's.

How many miles can we expect to get from the RE050A Pole Positions?
Of course, that assumes do track racing, just daily driving.

Will they get 20,000 on them? Or are they more like 15,000 like the stock advans?

Thanks,
Nathan

more in the way of 12-15K miles. max perf tires typically wont get anymore than 15K. it is one of the better wearing in its class though.

How do the RE050As compare to the S03s? I had the S03s on a WRX years ago...

I have RA1s for the track but I need new street tires.

It's actually replacing the S-03. That was a good tire for its time, but others are really giving it a run for the $$. Many of the S-03's sizes have already been discontinued. I'd buy the RE's.

Just got my RE050A Pole positions installed after ordering them from the tire rack Monday and receiving them Tuesday. Now thats service. Haven't pushed them to much since they're new, but have to totally agree with Punisherofall. Best riding tire I've ever had. Evo has never felt so good. Incredibly smooth and stable. I'll know more later, but this tire is amazing. Thanks to Neal for help in finding the right ones for me.
