what are the cons of running spacers

Whats are the cons of running spacers on a road race and daily driven car? Please only post if you know for sure. Thanks Cus im thinking of running either 4 or 5mm spacers on my car. oh in front only

which spacer do you have?the spacer with the stud together or just a spacer?with the stud/spacer combo youll be fine and just tq down the lugs well.as for the spacer you might wanna get longer studs for it so the lugs can be used properly and not halfway in.

oh and no cons that i can think off since i just usually use a spacer when im autoxing.

sometimes the cheaper spacers arent properly aligned cause they are generic and they might cause you to get vibrations at speed, kinda like an unbalanced tire.

There aren't really any cons, although you should try and get your wheels in the proper fitment from the get-go. I use a front spacer on my race tires so that I can easily rotate tires/wheels. You won't get into the adaptors (studs built into new spacers) until you reach about 15mm thickess.

One big thing to be aware of is how many threads are remaining on the stud with the new wheels/spacer. You want at least 1 diameter to 1.5 diameter. Meaning you should have 12 to 18mm of thread engagement. Which is 8-12 turns minimum.
