BRAKE PROBLEM, is this normal?
Hi, i'm pretty new here, but i've searched and couldn't find a answer, anyways
My rear passenger rear brake is making a Grinding noise (NOT a high pitch sound)when i'm NOT pressing the brake pedal, especially when i'm turning or driving very slow ( < 20mph ). And if I press the brake pedal, the noise will be gone.
so, any thoughts?

It is probably the wear indicator, have you pulled the pads? It is extremely easy and the is a thread in the Installaions/How to forum to walk you through the process.
If you do need new pads (my pass. rear was the first to go), then I suggest some reasearch here to find suitable replacements. You can find real good pads for less than $200...

Did you use copper anti-sieze on the backs of the pads? Lack of either of these will cause brake squeel..
ya, it was pass rear, forgot the type the "rear", anyways, thanks a lot, i'm going to my garage to check out my pads now, and also, since i have to order pads (if that's the problem), will it be ok if i keep driving for a coupld of days until the pads arrives, or will that damage my rotor. cus my beater Altima just decided to quit on me, have to use the evo to work. suks.

I had EBC greens on my evo for about 1k then threw them away cause they sqeeled bad and I faded them several times. I replaced them with the ferodo ds2500. all I can say is what a difference. them stop alot better and barely ever make any noise. I bet its the compound that EBC uses that causes the squeel. especially since the reds are a "hotter" pad then the greens are.
It's not the pads, the dust shield is bent a bit and it is rubbing on the back side of the rotor. Give the top of the shield a push through the wheel and your noise will be gone.
You can try the dust shield thing as mentioned above, but mine did the exact same thing and it was my pads. Stock pads went first in the rear. Don't waste your money on the Brembo pads from Mitsu, go with Ferodo, Porterfield, or ProjectMu. About 1/2 the price.
