Shimming the brake pedal light switch..

Has anybody ever looked in their rear view mirror when they press thier brakes gently and pay attention to when the brake light reflection shows up from the brakes going on?

I notice that if I hit the brakes very lightly, I can slow the car down without the brake lights even coming on. Its like there is extra play in the switch where it dosent light up even know the pedal is being pressed. I don't like this, I don't think its safe. Coming to red lights I rarely use my brakes, I usually just drift to a stop, and very gently use the brakes.

Can we just stick something to the pedal on the switch area so it presses the switch sooner? I'm not sure how the evo switch system works because I never really investigated it.

On my other vehicle (2004 ford ranger edge) the brake lights come on just barely touching it. I would like to get the brakelights to work like my truck.

Put your head up under the drivers side dash. You will see the switch, plain as day attached to the brake pedal. Adjusting it is pretty self explanatory.

Yeah, but I tried, and I still can't get it to unlock underneath there.
