Please help me if you can. I am at the end of the process of rebuilding a salvaged Evo. All is going well except that my brake lights will not work. I have checked all of the fuses, the actual brake switch at the pedal and made sure that power was coming out of the switch but is not getting to the back lights. I had to replace the entire for wiring harness and I am mostly sure that I got all of the connections correct. It is actually very difficult to screw this up. So, the running lights and emergency lights are working on the tail lights. Even the running light portion of the dual filament bulb is working but the brake lights are not. The bulbs are fine. Clearly the signal is not getting to the back. So I am thinking there must be a connection between the brake switch and maybe the fuse box or maybe somewhere else. So, I am asking anyone who is familiar with the Evolution's electrical system if they know how the system is supposed to work and where I should start looking. The car is a 2010 GSR. I would really appreciate help since this issue is all that is keeping me from registering my Evo and actually getting it back on the road.

 

Consider just running a new wire (bypass the harness) from the last 'good' place you get 12VDC when brake pedal is depressed.
