I currently have the WORKS/Ohlins stage 3 coilovers with the provided 10k/8k springs and all i can say is....

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the works guys are very friendly and worked with me to get the coilover that would fit my needs most

A+ to works!

A++++++ to the Ohlins stage 3 package from works!

AMAZING! made the car feel like it lost 1000lbs of weight!

Thanks for the info .MM ... is your car a daily driver? How civil is it on the street?

I am considering the stage 4 setup, but I'm interested to know how smooth your ride is.

WORKS/ Ohlins stage III

The WORKS/Ohlins Stage III Road & Tracks were valved specifically for the US Evo owner who tracks or auto-X's their car yet drives their Evo on a daily basis on the street.
We usually suggest the stage IV's for dedicated track cars such as
the WORKS Time Attack Evo or similar uses for road racing application. These are usually valved for higher spring rates.

What differentiates the Ohlins from other brands is a better than OEM ride quality without sacrificing track performance. The damping is much smoother than other coilovers designed for ultra smooth Japanese style roadways-TEIN, Buddy Club, Apexi...
After using these for 6 months I can safely say, the ride is improved over the standard ride of the OEM Bilsteins used on the VIII & IX MR's.
(9 track events and 12k road miles.)

Please give us ring and we'd be happy to discuss your setup, options and answer any questions you might have, Kirk

Kirk,

Could you elaborate a bit about the part where you said "specifically for the US Evo owner"? Will these fit JDM evo's? Or do you mean they're valved to your specs? What about the stage I?

What's the drop on these (stage I and III)? I understand the III's are adjustable for height, but usually there's drop and a range of adjustment. Less drop the better for me.

Thanks

The WORKS/ Ohlins are designed for all Evo's worldwide but have been valved according to our specification taking into consideration US road quality.

-Yes, all systems stage I-IV will fit JDM Evo's VII- IX.

-As for the stage I's, these are designed to be an exact replacement for the OEM style similar to the MR Bilsteins but with damping adjustability. Combined w/ the WORKS Ride Springs these lower the Evo .9 of an inch front & rear yet maintain the exact factory rake.

-The stage III's, are designed to accomodate a range from OEM height up to a 1.5 inch drop. We do not recommend anything lower.

Hope this answers your questions, I'm heading home, Kirk

^Thank you for the information. You've been most helpful.
I'm a long time fan of the evo and as good as the bilsteins are they tend to get a little tried after a long drive. Had a mind to get just springs but that won't help my particular problem. Mine is a daily driver so i don't really want it lower than stock, but perhaps ~1" will be okay and I'm looking at stage I in any case.

Now, the only problem I have is how to get rid of my spare set of bilsteins and Ralliart springs!!

Just to add what Kirk stated... these will fit all EVO VII, VIII and IX models independent of what part of the world the car was built for. However, setup will vary as different specifications receive slightly different components and the driver can be on opposite sides of the vehicle. As long as we are aware of the exact model you drive, WORKS can get the coilovers tailored for your needs.

i am very interested and am looking to compete at a very high level in autox next year. I would like the car to have a neutral/oversteer setup. Maybe 10/10 rates? Anyway, i suppose i should just call you.
