are these crap Coilovers?
i currently have a buyer for my MR bilsteins waiting for me to sell him the setup but i can't decide if i want to buy swift springs or buy these tein coilovers. the price out of my pocket would be the same. what would you guys do?
these coilovers seem the cheapest out of all coilovers i've seen. i'm just wondering if they are total crap. i will be doin 1 or 2 track days with a lot of autocrossing and dailly driving.
thanks,
albert
The Tein Basic is an entry level system that offers fixed rate dampening, but adjustable rideheight. Uses stock upper strut tops. Spring rates are 7 kg/mm front, 6kg/mm rear. Ships in 1-3 days.
or
Tein's SS system features a twin tube shock design, adjustable rideheight, as well as 16 way adjustable dampening. Uses stock upper mounts, but is compatible with the EDFC Controller. Ships in 1-3 days.

I'd go with the Megan Racing "track" coilovers. Neither of those Tein setups will be any good at the track or autox. I get a better ride with my 12k/10k MR track setup than I did with my Evo lowered on Tanabe springs. I set them to soft on the street and put them on the track settings for race day.
I have the Tein SS and am very happy with them. I enjoy the ease of dampening adjustments, ride height adjustments and excellent ride quality. You can hit the track, strip or street, date night or just cruisin around with this system. You can even add the EDFC for in-car adjustments.....nice.
If you plan on tracking the car or autoXing more often then not, then you might want to do some more searches on evom and find a better suited setup. There are better coilovers out there, depending on your budget. There are A LOT of threads on this subject. Good luck!

My vote is Megan Racing Track also (and these are what I am getting).
The MR Bilsteins are very very good.
I would not consider the Basics 'cos I doubt you'd feel the difference, and the SS will require some setup which doesn't sound like something you're into.
I'd go for springs. Perhaps not swift. Have you looked into Robispec?
