You mean get the tires balanced? I had WalMart do my last tire mount/balance when I needed to replace some old worn tires. Their prices were very reasonable, somthing like $22 to mount and balance two tires and dispose of the old rubber. I don't think it takes too long to do, normally you wait more for the cars in front of you than anything else.

Balancing refers to making the wheels spin w/o vibration/imbalance. Alignment refers to adjusting the way the wheels are oriented relative to the chassis/suspension. They are two completely different things. Either procedure is usually a walk in and both can usually be done at a reputable wheel-tire store (i.e. America's Tire Co., etc.) Balancing is probably ~$30 and alignment is probably ~$50-60. Hope this helps~

Alignment refers to setting the toe, camber/caster etc... Pep boys does 4 wheel alignments for $59.99 depending on the area.
Balance just means they balance your wheels by putting weights on the wheels to counter balance the offset.

Ideally, try to find a place that has one of those newer Hunter wheel balancing machines. You can do what's called "road force matching," which places a load on a wheel/tire combo to simulate driving on a road, and then they look for balance inconsistencies.

I have a car that is lowered and I hear this weird vibrating sound when I reach 50+ mph. Does my car need balancing or what? I can't seem to find where this buzzing sound is coming from so my first guess is my tires. I have stock tires/wheels btw. What you guys think?

initialDRacer how low did you go and did you have it balenced when you had it lowerd cause your really supossed to have it balenced and what not anytime you drop your car. they say RRM progress springs you don't need to but you should anyway. so if you didn't i would go have it rotated balenced and aligned and see if that solves the prob.
