Evo 8 front brake pads same as....?

Hey guys. I'm Matt. I work for Carbotech Engineering. We make brake pads.

Got a question. Does anyone know if the EVO 8 uses the same pads as the EVO 5 and 6 (and probably 7 as well)? Carbotech has the plates for the 5 and 6 (and some pads already made on the shelf for that matter) and I would like to know for sure if they are the same as the EVO 8. I was at the track a few weekends ago instructing in an EVO 8 (AWESOME f-ing car, BTW!) and the pads ceratainly *appeared* to be the same, but I couldn't say for sure. Does anyone have some cross-reference to other manufacturers I could look up??

BTW, I did a search and saw someone was recommending the F40 pad for the front. I don't think this is correct. They are the same length, but the Evo pad appears to be taller.

Thanks for the info.

Matt

Hi Matt,
Here's a cross-reference for you. Front pads Performance Friction 01 compound part# 7781.16. Rear pads Performance Friction 97 compound part# 0109.16.
Cheers,

Thanks wtz!!!

I had a feeling that the rear was the D109, we have that too.

That PFC drawing matches the plates we have for the EVO 5/6, so we can make street/track pads for the 8 as well.

Excellent.
